About this opportunity
The General Services Administration (GSA) Public Buildings Service Region 5 has issued a Special Notice for an Industry Day event related to the International Falls Land Port of Entry (LPOE) project. The virtual event is scheduled for May 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM CST and will be conducted via Google Meet. The project involves constructing a new land port of entry on the northern border in Minnesota, replacing an existing facility and creating a state-of-the-art commercial port of entry. The Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection will be the primary tenant of the new facility. The planned delivery method is Design-Bid-Build (DBB), which will result in a firm-fixed price contract for a General Construction Contractor.
Contractors interested in participating must RSVP by May 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM Central Time by emailing the Contracting Officer Anna Vanko and Contract Specialist Ulyana Gunkelman. The Industry Day is open to all contractors, with a particular focus on those with NAICS code 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) and similar construction experience. The event aims to provide an overview of the project, discuss challenges and constraints, explore impacts from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act, and outline solicitation logistics. The projected construction cost is between $184-194 million, with an anticipated 36-month construction duration from 2026-2029. Key project objectives include improving border safety, security, and trade efficiency while creating a welcoming gateway to the United States. Contractors will have an opportunity to network, ask questions, and gain insights into the upcoming Request for Proposal, which is expected to be issued in July 2025.
