About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base has issued a Special Notice for an Industry Day event focused on the Degraded Visual Environment Sensor (DVES) program. Scheduled for June 3rd and 4th, 2025, the event will take place at the Museum of Aviation Eagle Conference Room in Warner Robins, Georgia. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces (ISR-SOF) Directorate is hosting this opportunity to connect with potential technology vendors. The event is specifically targeting companies capable of developing advanced sensor technologies for enhancing situational awareness in challenging visual environments. The industry day will provide a comprehensive overview of the DVES program and allow vendors to demonstrate their innovative solutions.
The primary objective of this Industry Day is to gather information from potential contractors about developing a sensor system for the HH-60W Jolly Green Giant helicopter that can improve crew safety in degraded visual environments. Contractors must register by May 23rd, 2025, and provide company details including name, address, point of contact, CAGE code, and business classification. The DVES program seeks sensor technologies at Technology Readiness Levels 8-9, with specific requirements including real-time displays with less than 100ms latency, hazard detection capabilities from 50 meters away, and a total system weight under 150 pounds. The Air Force plans to initially install approximately five DVES kits, with potential future retrofitting of up to 96 aircraft. Participation is limited to U.S. citizens, and the event will include one-on-one vendor presentations with power and HDMI projection capabilities provided.
