About this opportunity

The Air Force Research Laboratory is conducting an industry day for a centrifuge planetary drive acquisition and installation at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, with RSVP deadline of 13 July 2026. The project involves modernization or replacement of an existing ABB drive system to deliver continuous 3.5 MW power and support up to 20 G's continuous force for the 711th Human Performance Wing. Prospective contractors must be ABB-authorized partners with direct access to genuine OEM parts and factory-level ABB technical support; grey-market sourcing is grounds for termination. All work must be completed and operationally handed over by 1 January 2030. The industry day will be held in two five-day sessions: 20–24 July 2026 and 27–31 July 2026, 8am–3pm ET, with one-hour time slots per company at Building 850, Area B, 2410 D Street, WPAFB, OH 45433. No virtual attendance is available. RSVPs and base pass coordination go to Lt Richard Edwards (richard.edwards.32@us.af.mil) and Diego Martinez (diego.martinez.19.ctr@us.af.mil); include your preferred day and time slot. The Statement of Work details required deliverables including spare parts strategies, design options for both modernization and replacement, downtime minimization plans, and acceptance testing protocols. All personnel require Tier 1 background checks and OPSEC training.
