About this opportunity

The Air Force Test Center's Installation Contracting Division has issued a Special Notice announcing an Industry Day for an Aerodynamic Test Facility project. The event will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 0800 to 1500 Mountain Standard Time at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. The Air Force Test Center, operating under the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center, is seeking commercial solutions to deliver a new aerodynamic test facility. This facility will be designed as either a 1/16th or 1/8th scaled representation of the existing Tunnel 16S and Tunnel 16T test legs currently located at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. The new facility will require independent supporting infrastructure and may be located at either the United States Air Force Academy or Arnold AFB.

The purpose of this Industry Day is to enhance potential offerors' understanding of the government's requirements and provide detailed insights into the commercial aerodynamic test facility project. Interested contractors must register by 1:00 PM Central Time on Monday, September 22, 2025, by submitting specific company and attendee information via email. To participate, companies must maintain an active System for Award Management profile and complete a NIST SP 800-171 self-assessment within the past three years. The government intends to use 10 U.S.C. 4022 authority for a prototype project, requiring vendors to meet at least one of three specified criteria. The event will feature 30-minute one-on-one sessions with the Government Project Team and will include project overview presentations, acquisition approach discussions, and site visits, with an Analysis of Alternatives required as part of the deliverables.
