About this opportunity
The United States Coast Guard is conducting market research to identify sources capable of supplying an industrial-grade 3D printer system with a sources-sought response deadline of June 5, 2026. This is not a solicitation and does not constitute a commitment to award; the USCG ALC Industrial Operations Division is surveying the market to inform procurement planning for a replacement to the Stratasys F450 system currently nearing end of life.
The required system must be a Stratasys F3300 with Aircraft Interior Certification Solutions package (part number 133-00100-V). Potential sources must be Stratasys Inc. or an authorized distributor of Stratasys. The F3300 is compatible with existing F450 software and licensing, eliminating the need for new software procurement and associated cost increases.
The system must produce large-format parts using FAA-certified ULTEM 9085 resin to meet Federal Aviation Administration flame, smoke, and toxicity standards mandated by ALC Engineering Specification GEN05000.05A for additive-manufactured aircraft components. ULTEM 9085 is the only thermoplastic certified by the FAA for this application. Stratasys is identified as the sole manufacturer offering a large-format 3D printer capable of processing interior aircraft-certified ULTEM 9085 resin. No other printer identified in market research met this technical requirement.
The procurement carries NAICS 333248 (All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing) and PSC 3610 (Printing, Duplicating, and Bookbinding Equipment). No set-aside is anticipated.

All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award.
The USCG is conducting market research to seek sources that have the capability to supply the item listed below:
Nomenclature: Stratasys F3300 System with Aircraft Interior Certification Solutions package
Part Number: 133-00100-V
Potential sources must be Stratasys Inc., an approved source, or an authorized distributor of Stratasys, Inc.
The USCG ALC Industrial Operations Division (IOD) is seeking a replacement for the Stratasys F450 that is nearing end of life. The software and technology required to support the Stratasys F450 is compatible with the F3300 which will eliminate the requirement for software and licensing. New software and licensing will not be considered, as this would significantly increase cost.
Stratasys is the only 3D printer found that utilized the Interior Aircraft Certified ULTEM 9085 resin to 3D print material in a large format. In accordance with (IAW) ALC Engineering Specification GEN05000.05A, additive manufactured aircraft parts are mandated to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements for flame, smoke, and toxicity standards. ULTEM 9085 is the only thermoplastic which has been certified by the FAA.
The 3D printer being offered MUST be capable of producing large format (building envelope 23.6” x 23.6” x 31.5”) prototypes as part of the additive manufacturing process.
