About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for the procurement of a red button indicator component (NSN 1650-01-111-5904) used in F15 aircraft systems. This sources sought synopsis is designed to gather capability information from interested parties and will inform the agency's determination of the appropriate procurement method. Interested organizations must submit their capability statements by November 4, 2025, and should address their organizational capacity, financial resources, technical expertise, and project management capabilities. The government will evaluate responses based on the organization's potential to provide services consistent with the scope of the requirement, secure necessary corporate and human capital resources, implement effective project management including schedule compliance and cost containment, and deliver services under performance-based requirements. Notably, this pre-solicitation notice indicates that no formal solicitation has been posted at this time, and submission of information is entirely voluntary with no financial responsibility assumed by the government for any costs incurred in response.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is classified under NAICS code 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) within the PSC category 1650 (Aircraft Hydraulic, Vacuum, and De-Icing System Components). No incumbent contractor, historical award value, or specific quantity requirements are identified in this market research notice. The sources sought synopsis serves as preliminary outreach rather than a binding procurement action, allowing the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation to gauge market capacity before proceeding to formal solicitation. Organizations with subcontracting or teaming arrangements should clearly document their administrative and management structures. The brief timeline for response—one week from the October 28, 2025 posting date—underscores the agency's urgency in completing market research for this requirement.
