About this opportunity
The Department of State published a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice for comprehensive Icelandic language instruction services to support the U.S. Embassy Reykjavik's 2025 language program. The contract encompasses three key components: two sets of 10-lesson in-person instructor-led courses (beginner and intermediate levels), one set of 10-lesson one-on-one tutoring sessions for the Chief of Mission, and supplementary online Icelandic language materials. The Department justified sole source procurement by identifying Bara Tala as the only vendor capable of providing the comprehensive language resources required, offering high-quality instruction at the specific times needed by the Embassy and integrated online materials that other companies cannot provide. The contract was awarded to Bara Tala on March 11, 2025, with an estimated total value of $10,678 including options. This procurement falls under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold and addresses the Embassy's specific need for flexible scheduling and integrated supplementary online learning materials that only this vendor can deliver.
