About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking a sole source contract for power supply units supporting the Minuteman III Weapon System at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The solicitation, posted on March 3, 2025, with responses due by April 2, 2025, targets a specific procurement of power supply components with non-commercial specifications requiring engineering approval. The agency intends to award the contract to OEM Kepco, Inc., based on the unique engineering requirements that would make competitive bidding cost-prohibitive and potentially delay mission capabilities. While the procurement is primarily targeted at Kepco, other responsible sources may submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to provide the required supplies before the solicitation closing. The evaluation will focus on vendors' capacity to meet strict engineering source control specifications and provide immediate mission-critical components.

The solicitation does not include any specific set-aside designations and covers the procurement of 37 power supply units with a delivery date of January 19, 2026. The contract falls under NAICS category 336419 for Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Parts Manufacturing and PSC category 1420 for Guided Missile Components. The total procurement includes two contract line items: one for the power supply units (NSN: 6130010750313AH) and another for a data submission related to counterfeit protection (NSN: 6130DTG250068AH). The place of performance is specified as 7981 Georgia St, Hill AFB, UT 84056. Early delivery of the components is acceptable, and the procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b)(1), emphasizing the critical nature of maintaining weapon system integrity and operational readiness.
