About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Hood (MICC Fort Hood) is seeking to procure one long-wave hyperspectral imager (HSI), one far-field telescope, one near-field telescope, a ruggedized control computer, software, tripods, and analytical software. The HSI and computer must be operable in field conditions from 20°F to 110°F without the need for liquid nitrogen or external cooling. MICC Fort Hood is conducting this Sources Sought notice to assess the available technology and support a competitive procurement for these items. The government may conduct a site visit during the solicitation phase, but this notice does not constitute an RFQ, IFB, or RFP, and the government is not seeking quotes, bids, or proposals at this time.
This contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific business size or type. The government has not provided any information about potential incumbent contractors or the anticipated award value. The quantity required is one HSI system, and the period of performance is not specified in the notice. If a competitive solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Government-wide Point of Entry.

The Government requires one long-wave hyperspectral imagers (7.7-11.8mm range, 320 × 256-pixel array, and spectral resolution from 0.25 to 16 cm-1) with one far-field (3x or 3.5x) telescopes and one near-field (0.5x) telescopes, ruggedized control computer, software for command and control of the HSI, tripod, and analytical software for post-processing. The HSI and computer must be operable in field conditions without the need for liquid nitrogen, external cooling devices, and fully operational outdoor environmental conditions from 20F to 110F. The intent of this Sources Sought is to assess the state-of-the art of the technology available in Hyperspectral Imager and accessories products that could be applied to meet this requirement.
