About this opportunity
Idaho National Laboratory is offering no-cost technical assistance to qualifying small businesses through the Hydropower Testing Network voucher program, with registration closing July 23, 2026. Selected recipients will receive laboratory services from INL in support of hydropower development, testing, and analysis, funded through a Department of Energy voucher initiative.
Three capabilities are available: HyTN-49 provides integrated planning, geotechnical analysis, valuation, and optimization services for hydropower, hydro-hybrids, non-powered dams, and irrigation canals. HyTN-50 offers interconnection analysis, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and governor performance assessment services. HyTN-73 provides HydroSHIELD hydropower assessment services. The scope of work for each capability is intentionally broad and developed collaboratively between INL and the selected recipient; projects aligning with the general scope of any listed capability may be eligible for support.
Interested small businesses should identify the capability matching their project needs and register through the program's application portal. Applicants provide a brief project description, company purpose statement, and rank their top three voucher selections in order of priority. Full capability descriptions and registration access are available through the program portal.
