About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA Aviation) is conducting market research to identify potential suppliers for HUB, COMPRESSOR, NONAIRCRAFT GAS TURBINE ENGINE (NSN 2835-01-557-4125) for Nimitz Class CVN vessels. This pre-solicitation notice seeks capability statements from interested organizations that demonstrate the capacity to manufacture and supply this component, which falls under NAICS code 336412 (Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing) and PSC code 2835 (Gas Turbines and Components). The government will evaluate respondents based on their ability to provide services consistent with the scope and scale of the requirement, secure adequate corporate financial and human capital resources, implement effective project management including compliance with tight program schedules and cost containment, and demonstrate hiring and retention capabilities for key personnel. Interested parties must submit organizational information including name, address, contact details, website, and size/type of ownership, along with tailored capability statements supported by appropriate documentation. The response deadline for capability information is December 24, 2026, though it is important to note that this is a sources sought synopsis and not a formal solicitation, meaning submission is entirely voluntary and the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.

No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement opportunity. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or current suppliers, nor does it disclose specific award values, budget ranges, or quantity requirements for the compressor hub components. The pre-solicitation notice provides no detailed timeline for service delivery or production, focusing instead on the preliminary market research phase to determine the most appropriate procurement method. Organizations anticipating significant subcontracting or teaming arrangements should clearly address the administrative and management structure of such partnerships in their capability statements. While the notice was posted on December 17, 2025, the extended response period extending to December 24, 2026 indicates the government is taking a measured approach to identify qualified suppliers before issuing a formal solicitation.
