About this opportunity
The USDA Forest Service, Procurement & Property Services has issued a Notice of Intent to Award a BPA Call for the Hoosier National Forest Birdseye Trail Rehabilitation project. This special notice was posted on April 10, 2026, and represents the agency's intent to award work under an existing Blanket Purchase Agreement for Region 9 Trails. The announcement is being made to comply with USDA contracting policy requirements mandating synopsis publication for BPA calls exceeding $25,000. Importantly, this notice explicitly states it is not a solicitation and does not constitute a request for quotes or proposal submissions from the general contracting community. Only contractors with an active, approved BPA for the respective zone are eligible to participate in this call order.
The project scope involves trail maintenance and rehabilitation work on the Birdseye Trail located south of Indiana State Route 145 near Birdseye, Indiana, in Crawford County. The contractor selected through this BPA call will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and transportation necessary to complete the work, which includes constructing rolling dips and placing aggregate on the trail. Project access points are situated off Riceville Road and Rowland Road. The due date for this BPA call is May 5, 2026. Eligible contractors must already hold an active BPA under the Region 9 Trails agreements previously solicited on SAM.gov. The government will not provide feedback or evaluations to companies regarding their submissions in response to this notice, and participation is limited exclusively to pre-approved BPA holders.
