About this opportunity
NASA's Shared Services Center has published a Special Notice for High Temperature Low Cycle Fatigue Performance of GRX-810 Alloy research services. The agency intends to issue a sole source contract to the University of Arizona under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) authority, having determined that the university is the sole provider capable of performing this specialized work. The procurement will be conducted by NASA/NSSC with performance occurring at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. The contract falls under NAICS code 611310 for Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools and will utilize commercial item acquisition procedures under FAR Parts 12 and 13.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors of NASA's intent to proceed with sole source procurement while providing an opportunity for other qualified organizations to demonstrate their capabilities. Interested parties must submit written responses detailing their qualifications and capabilities to perform the GRX-810 alloy fatigue testing work by 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on August 8, 2025. The government will evaluate these responses solely to determine whether the procurement should be conducted on a competitive basis rather than sole source. No oral communications will be accepted, and the final decision whether to compete the requirement remains at the government's discretion. Organizations responding must demonstrate expertise in high-temperature low cycle fatigue performance testing of advanced alloy materials.
