About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Project Manager Maneuver Ammunition Support (PM-MAS), is hosting a Small Caliber High Pressure Cartridge Case Industry Day on July 09, 2025, at the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The event is specifically designed for Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. DoD contractors to explore opportunities in developing advanced small caliber ammunition casings. The industry day will focus on identifying potential technologies for cartridge cases that can withstand high pressures across various calibers, including 5.56mm, 6.8mm, .338NM, 7.62mm, and intermediate calibers. Participants are expected to have expertise or interest in manufacturing small caliber ammunition or related subcomponents. The event will be unclassified and restricted to DoD-affiliated contractors, with no foreign visitors permitted.

Contractors interested in participating must complete a registration form and submit it electronically by July 01, 2025, at 3:00 PM EST to Contract Specialist Nicole Mayol and Procuring Contracting Officer Paul Giovannoli. The industry day will consist of a general session covering key manufacturing capabilities and requirements, followed by optional 30-minute one-on-one sessions where companies can showcase their technologies, manufacturing processes, and workforce expertise. Vendors may have the opportunity to conduct demonstration shoots at the Aberdeen Proving Ground range, providing their own weapons and ammunition for testing. Each participating company is limited to one one-on-one session and must provide a statement explaining their manufacturing capabilities or rationale for attending. The government emphasizes that this event is strictly for information gathering and requirements communication, with no sales pitches or proprietary information sharing allowed. Participants must bring government-issued photo identification and adhere to strict rules of engagement, including a prohibition on recording devices.
