About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a civilian agency within the Department of Commerce, is seeking to procure High Performance Computing (HPC) services to augment its on-premise HPC environment. NIST has an urgent need for external HPC capabilities, including compute, storage, and research software engineering, to support the continuation of its research activities. The solicitation outlines technical requirements such as compatibility with NIST's software build environment, high-performance data storage, and support for the SLURM job scheduler. Quotes will be evaluated based on factors including computational capabilities, timeliness, price, user services, and IT security compliance. Proposals are due in two phases, with the first phase submissions due by August 9, 2024 and the second phase submissions due by August 23, 2024.
This is an open competition under NAICS code 541519 (Other Computer Related Services), with a small business size standard of $34.0M. NIST intends to award a single time and materials contract with a not-to-exceed amount of $250,000 for the period of performance from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. The place of performance is not specified, but the services must be compatible with NIST's on-premise HPC environment.
