About this opportunity
The U.S. Embassy in Guatemala has issued a solicitation for border security infrastructure requiring two 40-foot sea containers (Class A or B) modified for office space, one generator with metal cart, and one 4x4 meter awning for the generator. The procurement includes delivery and installation on six reinforced concrete bases along a main highway in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, with the contractor responsible for providing all labor, personnel, management, materials, and equipment necessary for the project. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit required documentation including SF-1442, Statement of Work, pricing details, and proof of SAM registration. The government intends to award the contract to the lowest-priced, technically acceptable offeror, potentially without further discussions. The original quotation deadline was August 29, 2025, at 5:00 PM local time, with questions accepted until August 11, 2025, though an amendment dated August 21, 2025, has cancelled the solicitation due to U.S. Government priorities.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the solicitation documents. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed in the available documentation, the scope involves precisely two modified containers, one generator system, and one awning structure. The containers will be modified according to detailed architectural specifications that include office space, electrical infrastructure, air conditioning, security features, and specialized equipment such as computer workstations and server racks. Performance will take place in Guatemala, specifically in the Huehuetenango region along a main highway, with the American Embassy Guatemala City serving as the contracting authority. Payment terms were established as net 30 days with electronic funds transfer, and all submissions were required to be in English and submitted electronically to the embassy's procurement section.
