About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center is seeking information regarding a Ground Power Unit (GPU) capable of supporting aircraft start-up operations for the 420th Instrumentation Group. This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued solely for planning and information-gathering purposes and does not constitute a formal Request for Quote or commitment to issue a contract. The GPU must meet specific technical specifications, including the capability to produce 600 amps at 28VDC with adjustable output voltage ranging from 24 to 31.9 VDC, accommodate input voltage ranges of 3 x 400V or 3 x 460V at 50/60 Hz frequency, and provide engine start capability at 28V with 2000A output. Respondents should identify and mark any proprietary information included in their submissions. The RFI response deadline is April 20, 2026, and interested parties are advised that the government will not evaluate responses as proposals, will not reimburse any costs associated with responding, and response does not guarantee future contact or contract award.
No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement opportunity. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or current service providers, nor does it specify an award value or budget range for this requirement. Respondents should note that this RFI is not associated with any previous or ongoing Requests for Quotes or Fair Opportunity Proposal Requests issued by the Department of the Air Force. The GPU specifications indicate continuous output capability of 600 amperes with an option to limit output to 400 amperes upon request, voltage ripple less than 2 percent at full load, and soft-start capability with no inrush current. The absence of a response to this RFI does not preclude potential contractors from participating in any future formal solicitation or contract announcements related to this requirement.
Notice text
DESCIPTION: THIS NOTICE IS A REQUEDT FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute as a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contact for any supply or service whatsoever. Responses will be treated as information only and will not be evaluated as a proposal. Further, the Government is not at this time seeking quotes and will not accept unsolicited quotes. A return response from the government regarding RFI submissions is not guaranteed. The RFI respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation from future announcements or contracts. Respondents should indicate which portions of their response are propriety and should mark accordingly.
NOTE: This RFI is not associated with any previous or ongoing RFQs or Fair Opportunity Proposal Requests issued by the DAF.
