About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District is soliciting sealed bids for a hay production lease covering approximately 229 acres at Granger Lake in Williamson County, Texas, including embankment, spillway, and project office areas across multiple designated tracts. The lease permits hay production as the sole authorized use, with the unique requirement that 100% of the rental payment will be fulfilled through work abatement involving specific land management activities to improve wildlife habitat and native vegetation rather than monetary payment. Bidders must submit a $200 bid deposit in the form of a cashier's check, money order, or certified check made payable to the F&A Officer, USAED, Fort Worth. The lease will be awarded to the highest compliant bidder following the evaluation of submitted proposals using the provided bid forms. Key dates include a mandatory pre-bid meeting on July 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Granger Lake Office, with sealed bids due by 11:00 AM on July 16, 2025, when they will be publicly opened at the same location.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified bidders. No incumbent contractors or potential award values are specified in the solicitation materials, as the compensation structure is based entirely on work abatement rather than traditional monetary payments. The lease term spans approximately five months from the award date through December 31, 2025, providing a relatively short-term arrangement for hay production activities. The place of performance is located at Granger Lake, specifically at 3100 Granger Dam Road, Granger, Texas 76634, where the Corps of Engineers maintains its local office. Interested parties can obtain complete solicitation documents through SAM.gov using solicitation number DACW63-9-25-0631 or by contacting Ms. Amanda Wilkinson, Forester, at 817-886-1015.
