About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation is conducting market research through this Sources Sought notice to support future procurement planning for electrical installation and power plant construction at Glen Canyon Powerplant and Lake Powell Switchyard in Coconino County, Arizona. The primary work involves the removal and replacement of station service transformers along with associated electrical, protection, and structural modifications at the facility located approximately two miles northwest of Page, Arizona. This is a market research announcement issued under FAR Part 10 and does not constitute a formal solicitation, request for proposal, or bid opportunity; no contract will be awarded from this notice, and no reimbursement will be provided for response costs. Interested firms are advised that the due date for submitting market research responses is May 1, 2026.
The procurement carries no set-aside designation and does not identify any current contractor or incumbent. The work specifically requires the furnishing, installation, and commissioning of three outdoor, three-phase station service transformers with the following specifications: two transformers rated at 3.75/4.687 MVA with 13.8 kV high-side voltage and 4.16 kV low-side voltage, and one transformer rated at the same MVA with 25 kV high-side voltage and matching 4.16 kV low-side voltage; all units feature natural ester insulating fluid, 6.5 percent impedance, and tap changer capabilities. Additional work includes installation of new neutral grounding resistors and removal or replacement of nonsegregated bus components. The notice does not disclose a specific contract value or award range, as this is preliminary market research intended to inform scope definition and acquisition strategy for the eventual solicitation.
