Notice text
The Government intends to negotiate a contract with Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) on a sole source basis for Genotyping of Atlantic Bluefin Tuna collected from years 2017 and 2018 in the Western Atlantic. The work consists of sampling tissues samples and extracting DNA for genotyping by sequencing for close-kin abundance estimation. CSIRO conducted the genetic analyses for pilot Phases 1 and 2 of the project, and therefore Phase 3 needs to be continued at CSIRO for data compatibility and exact model input (close-kin mark-recapture abundance estimation). The period of performance will be a base year with three (3) one (1) year option periods. A Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition will be posted at a later date.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all submittals received by the due date set forth in this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is based on upon responses to this notice within the discretion of the Government.
