About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a manufacturer for a GENERATOR, FUNCTION, a specialized electronic component classified under the Bare Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing NAICS category. This solicitation, posted on December 27, 2024, with proposals due by January 17, 2025, requires potential offerors to be authorized distributors of the original manufacturer's item. The contract emphasizes strict manufacturing and design specifications, with requirements that include meeting specific material and physical standards (reference DS360/3), adhering to MIL-STD-130 marking standards, and obtaining items directly from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Offerors must submit firm-fixed pricing and provide documentation of their distributor authorization on company letterhead. The procurement will be awarded with FOB Origin terms and requires compliance with various federal procurement regulations, including Buy American and Free Trade Agreement provisions.
The solicitation does not indicate a specific set-aside designation and does not reveal potential award values or precise quantities. The contract appears to be for a specific generator function component, likely intended for naval or defense applications, with quality assurance requirements that mandate contractors maintain detailed inspection records for 365 calendar days after final delivery. Distributors must demonstrate authorization and comply with distribution statement codes as outlined in OPNAVINST 5510.1, with potential distribution limitations ranging from public release to restricted government and contractor access. The Navy will conduct inspections to ensure compliance with all specified requirements, reserving the right to verify that submitted supplies meet prescribed standards. Contractors must be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation, including potential design change explanations and part number modifications, to support the procurement process.
