About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command has issued a Special Notice for the procurement of alternative generators under NSN 6115 014632103, seeking 29 units to be delivered FOB Origin. This opportunity falls under the Motor and Generator Manufacturing NAICS category (335312) and the Generators and Generator Sets PSC category (6115). The notice was posted on September 17, 2025, with responses due by October 3, 2025. The procurement is structured without any set-aside designations, making it open to all qualified suppliers. The Navy has determined that acquiring data rights or reverse engineering this particular generator model would be uneconomical.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to solicit offers for alternative generator units while establishing the framework for potential contractors to access necessary technical documentation and specifications. Interested parties can obtain military specifications, standards, and other standardization documents through the Defense Standardization Program Automation Office in Philadelphia, with most documents available in PDF format via the ASSIST database at designated web portals. All offers must be submitted in English and priced in U.S. dollars, and the procurement may be subject to Trade Agreements Act provisions. The government has conducted market research indicating that standard commercial acquisition policies under Part 12 will not apply to this procurement. Contractors should note that the government does not own the data rights for this item and has determined that only specific sources possess the necessary manufacturing rights or technical data.
