About this opportunity
The General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking to lease hangar space in the San Antonio, Texas region, including areas spanning Boerne, New Braunfels, and San Marcos. The facility must provide Fixed Based Operator (FBO) services including aircraft refueling, parking, and crew amenities, with a minimum 42-foot-wide hangar access door accommodating a Cessna aircraft. The lessor must offer secure, climate-controlled space for DEA personnel, flight preparation facilities, equipment storage of 136 square feet, and ground handling equipment, while maintaining compliance with government fire safety, accessibility, seismic, and sustainability standards. The space must not be located within the 1-percent-annual-chance floodplain and must be a fully serviced lease. Additionally, all proposed solutions must comply with Section 889 of the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act regarding telecommunications prohibitions. The due date for submission is January 21, 2025, though this date appears inconsistent with the posting date of January 7, 2026 and should be clarified with the agency.
This pre-solicitation notice carries no set-aside designations, meaning all qualified vendors may compete. The required space ranges from 2,530 to 3,000 rentable square feet with a 10-year full term and 5-year firm term commitment. The lessor must provide four surface parking spaces and coordinate Cessna aircraft maintenance capabilities on or near the premises, while also enabling TSA-compliant security measures and hangar alarm system installation. No incumbent contractor information or specific budget range has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation phase. Interested parties should monitor for the formal solicitation announcement and prepare responses demonstrating their ability to meet all FBO service requirements and government compliance standards within the specified Texas geographic area.
