About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is soliciting quotes for five spur gears (part number 505387) designed for bow planes angle transmitter applications on naval vessels. These gears feature specific technical specifications including a pitch diameter of 1.0416 inches, diametral pitch of 24, 25 teeth, and 0.25-inch face width, and must be compatible with existing equipment as direct replacement parts for current systems. The procurement is restricted to women-owned small businesses (WOSB) under NAICS code 333998, with contractors required to comply with NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity standards unless items qualify as Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products. Award evaluation will consider supplier performance using the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS), along with past performance, technical capability, and pricing factors. Quotes must be submitted by November 12, 2025, at 7:00 AM via email to Sharla.Erdmann@DLA.MIL, with pricing valid for 30 days from submission, and all responses must include completed certifications and representations as outlined in the SF 1449 solicitation form.
The solicitation is designated as a Women-Owned Small Business set-aside with a reference to HENSCHEL INC./MARITIME SYSTEMS as the incumbent supplier for this sole-source requirement. The procurement is estimated between $15,000 and $350,000 based on FAR restrictions for such acquisitions, with five units required for delivery to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, by November 17, 2025. Inspection requirements include QA level 3 with a 45-day inspection timeline, and contractors must have base access through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS). Quotes must be submitted on FOB Destination terms to Bremerton, Washington, with lead time and delivery dates clearly specified in Section F of the proposal. Interested contractors should note the compressed timeline and ensure all required certifications, manufacturer information, and compliance documentation are included in their submissions to be deemed responsive.
