About this opportunity
NASA Ames Research Center is seeking capability statements for a General Electric GE90-94B engine, a high-bypass turbofan with a 94,000-pound thrust rating. The agency is collecting information from potential sources to determine appropriate competition levels and small business subcontracting goals for this procurement. Interested vendors are invited to submit documentation, literature, brochures, and references electronically to Joshua.D.Taggart@nasa.gov by March 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM CT. All responses must reference the solicitation number 80ARC025PA004. While no formal solicitation currently exists, NASA will synopsize any future solicitation on SAM.gov, and vendors are responsible for monitoring the website for updates. The government reserves the right to evaluate responses and potentially consider small business set-asides based on the submissions received.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates that no specific set-aside has been predetermined, but NASA is open to considering various small business categories including 8(a), Women-owned (WOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-owned Small Business (EDWOSB), and HUBZone businesses. The procurement falls under the NAICS category 336412 for Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing and PSC category 2840 for Gas Turbines and Jet Engines. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned, the notice suggests this is a planning-stage information gathering effort. No incumbent contractor is named, and respondents will not be individually notified of evaluation results. Firms deemed fully qualified will be considered in any subsequent solicitation for the engine requirement.
