About this opportunity

The Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) is conducting a Sources Sought Notice/Market Research Survey to identify potential contractors for manufacturing Dial Bore Gages in three sizes: 60MM, 81MM, and 120MM. The procurement is specifically seeking information from both small and large businesses about their capabilities to produce these connecting rod gages (NSN: 5210015603403). To be eligible for potential future solicitation, vendors must have a current DD 2345 Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement certification and be able to access a distribution code D technical data package. Interested contractors must submit their market survey responses by April 24, 2025, directly to Natalie DeBoer via email with a specific subject line identifying the procurement. The evaluation will focus on vendors' manufacturing capabilities, production lead times, quality management systems, and first article testing experience, with the understanding that this research does not guarantee a future contract award.

The procurement is not set aside for any specific business category and represents a one-time buy with an initial estimated quantity of 105 units and a potential 100% option quantity available 365 days after the initial award. The technical data package will be restricted to Department of Defense and U.S. Contractors, limiting the pool of potential bidders. Vendors must carefully mark any proprietary information and provide appropriate confidentiality release statements. First article testing will be a required component of the eventual procurement, and contractors will be expected to adhere to strict data handling and destruction protocols. While no specific budget range is disclosed, the complexity of the technical requirements and the military-specific nature of the gages suggest this could be a specialized and potentially high-value contract for the right manufacturer with the necessary certifications and capabilities.
