About this opportunity
NASA's Information Procurement Technology Office has issued a Special Notice announcing its intention to award a sole-source contract to PTC Inc. for the renewal of PTC software subscriptions across the agency during fiscal year 2026. The notice was posted on February 24, 2026, and represents a commercial product acquisition under FAR Part 12 authority. PTC Inc., headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, has been determined to be the sole provider capable of meeting NASA's requirements for this software renewal. The procurement falls under the Software Publishers NAICS category and the IT and Telecom Business Application Software as a Service PSC category. NASA is providing this advance notice to allow interested organizations to demonstrate their capabilities before the agency makes a final determination on whether to pursue this as a competitive acquisition.
Interested contractors must submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically via email to Jonathan Gomez at jonathan.g.gomez@nasa.gov no later than 4:00 PM ET on March 11, 2026. The government will evaluate all submitted responses solely to determine whether a full and open competitive procurement is warranted, though the final decision to compete or proceed with the sole-source award remains entirely within NASA's discretion. There are no specific set-aside requirements associated with this opportunity, and the acquisition is being conducted under the authority of FAR 13.501(a) for sole-source procurements. Organizations wishing to challenge this procurement approach may reference NASA Clause 1852.215-84 and contact the appropriate Center Ombudsman through the official NASA Procurement Ombudsman listing. This notice represents an opportunity for qualified vendors to advocate for competitive consideration of this FY26 software subscription renewal requirement.
