About this opportunity
The 22nd Contracting Squadron (Air Mobility Command) is issuing a Request for Information to identify qualified vendors capable of providing Electronic Flight Bag sanitization services, with responses due May 15, 2026. This is a Total Small Business set-aside procurement. The RFI is market research only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award.
The requirement spans three components: physical hardware sanitization of thirty iPad Air M3 devices (permanent removal or disabling of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and microphone capabilities); purpose-built docking infrastructure to deliver iOS and publication updates via physical connection only; and centralized device management services to support an EFB Program Manager office managing devices for sensitive 801x exercises and real-world operations with zero wireless connectivity, no ForeFlight, no email, no Teams, and no certificates loaded.
All work is performed at the contractor's facility with a 30-day period of performance from contract award. The contractor must possess expertise in electronics and hardware modification. Deliverables include thirty modified devices and individual reports for each device (identified by serial number) certifying component removal and detailing work performed. Government quality assurance includes physical inspection, functional testing to verify core operations (operating system boot, screen display, touch response), connectivity and sensor testing, and report verification. The contractor bears liability for potential device damage during modification and must address the risk of voiding manufacturer warranty and compromising built-in security features such as the Secure Enclave if modifications are performed improperly.
NAICS 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance); PSC K099 (Modification of Equipment—Miscellaneous).
