About this opportunity
The 42d Contracting Squadron at Maxwell Air Force Base is seeking 250 iPad mini 7th generation devices to update and replace aging electronic flight bags (EFBs) for the Air Education and Training Command. These devices will serve as publications libraries and in-flight maps/charts for military pilots, with specific requirements including WiFi-only configuration, 256 GB storage, and space grey color. The pre-solicitation notice is a sources sought synopsis designed to gather market research and industry capabilities, not a formal solicitation. Interested vendors must submit responses by 12:00 P.M. Central Standard Time on March 31, 2025, via email to the designated contract points of contact, AIC Alexia Lassin and Mr. Jeremy Kersey. The government is seeking detailed information about potential suppliers' capabilities, business classifications, and ability to meet the specified device requirements.
The opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 541519, which has a size standard of $34.0 million. Vendors are asked to provide company information, business type classification, and confirm their ability to supply the specified iPad mini devices or suggest equivalent alternatives. The contract requires the successful vendor to provide delivery, assembly, disassembly, and training on the equipment to the 23rd Flying Training Squadron at Cairns Army Airfield, Fort Novosel, Alabama. Respondents are cautioned that they will not be reimbursed for response costs and that any submitted information may be incorporated into a future solicitation. The government emphasizes that this is purely a market research effort and does not guarantee a subsequent contract award.
