About this opportunity

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency intends to award a sole-source contract to CORT Furniture Outlet for furniture rental with an estimated total value of $30,642.24 on a limited sources justification basis.

The OCC's Santa Ana office, acquired upon the merger of the Office of Thrift Supervision with the OCC, contains 10 available workspaces but has 29 employees assigned to it. Return to Office executive order implementation necessitated rapid expansion of seating capacity. The OCC determined that renting furniture for two years represents the quickest and most economical solution. Urgency precludes full and open competition.

CORT Furniture Outlet is identified as the only reasonably available source based on its status as a national furniture rental company with an extensive warehouse system capable of supporting the Santa Ana requirement, its ability to provide matching furniture meeting OCC professional office standards for environments frequented by bankers and external professionals, availability of sit/stand desks within the OCC's branding package, and its capacity to assemble all required furniture within two weeks of contract award. Market research identified two competing California-based rental furniture companies, but both offered mismatched furniture in colors and styles incompatible with OCC requirements. CORT also demonstrated flexibility regarding contract duration uncertainty.

Period of performance is two years with two twelve-month option periods. Furniture is needed beginning the week of October 19, 2026. Place of performance is Santa Ana, California. The Program Office certification was signed by Maria Yeckel on October 8, 2026, and Contracting Officer approval was signed by Marlon Holland on the same date.

Notice text

The seating capacity of the OCC’s Santa Ana office is insufficient for all employees assigned to that office. The Santa Ana office was formerly an OTS office. We acquired this office when OTS merged with the OCC. The office is comprised of 8 private offices and 2 workstations. With the Return to Office (RTO) executive order, the Santa Ana office has insufficient seating. There are 29 employees assigned to the Santa Ana office; the current location has 10 workspaces available. The quickest and most economical way to stand up space is to rent furniture for two years. CORT furniture has prepared a furniture plan and proposal for the rental of furniture for two years.
