About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of State's Embassy in Brussels has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source, firm fixed-price contract to InLease for furniture and appliances for embassy-provided housing at residence KN787. This notice is part of a 10-residence pilot furniture leasing program that is concluding on February 28th, 2025. The Department has determined that InLease is the only responsible source capable of supplying the necessary items, which are currently installed in the residence. The procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, which allows for a sole source procurement when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. The total contract value is EUR23,903.86 for a complete set of furniture including dining room, living room, master bedroom, secondary guest room pieces, and essential appliances.
Contractors interested in this opportunity are invited to submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to provide equivalent products within seven days of the notice's publication. While this is not a competitive solicitation, the government will consider any submitted capability statements and reserves the right to determine whether to proceed with InLease as the sole source vendor. The primary objective is to purchase furniture and appliances that are already installed, minimizing disruption to resident families and avoiding substantial additional costs associated with removing and replacing the current furnishings. Eligibility is open to all responsible sources, though the government has preliminarily determined that InLease uniquely meets their specific requirements. The procurement meets U.S. Government quality standards and is being conducted under the specific statutory provision of 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(1), which allows for non-competitive procurement under certain circumstances.
