About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Little Rock District is seeking potential sources for a contract opportunity at Fort Wainwright's Bassett Army Community Hospital in Alaska. The primary procurement involves replacing accordion-type portable partition walls in various classrooms, with specific technical requirements including an STC rating of 51 or 52 and fireproof certification. This sources sought synopsis is designed to identify qualified small businesses within NAICS code 337215, which has a standard size threshold of 500 employees. Interested contractors are encouraged to respond to the notice by emailing Timothy.A.Pighee@usace.army.mil, with responses serving to inform the government's acquisition decisions. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on April 23, 2025, with a response deadline of May 7, 2025, indicating a relatively short window for potential contractors to express interest.
The contract opportunity does not have a specific set-aside designation, meaning it is open to all qualifying businesses that meet the technical and size specifications. While no incumbent contractor is mentioned, the procurement involves the complete replacement and disposal of existing partition walls, suggesting a comprehensive renovation project. Specific award values or precise budget ranges are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. The scope of work appears focused on the Fort Wainwright location, with the primary objective of upgrading classroom partition infrastructure to meet specific sound transmission and fire safety standards. The project's geographical focus in Alaska and the specialized nature of the partition requirements suggest this could be a targeted, technical procurement with potentially complex installation requirements.
