About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Support Center Huntsville published this Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice for a $3.2 million task order modification to Dawson Solutions, LLC for munitions clearance services at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. The services involve clearing 37.7 acres of the Multi-Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) Range of potential unexploded ordnance (UXO) to allow a paused construction project to continue, with the goal of having an operational range ready to support soldier readiness training on high-caliber weapons by late calendar year 2029. The sole source justification is based on Dawson's existing on-site presence, specialized UXO technicians, and the need to avoid significant construction delays estimated at $1.5-$1.7 million that would result from a competitive procurement. The modification expands an existing task order (W912DY-24-F-0373) under the Chemical, Environmental, and Munitions Response Unrestricted (ChEM-RU) Multiple Award Task Order Contract, and was necessitated by the discovery of two Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) items during recent construction activities. The clearance effort will take approximately 104 days and includes investigating berms, loam stockpiles, and tree root balls across the affected acreage.
