About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior (DOI), Interior Business Center, Acquisition Services Directorate has published a Special Notice of Intent to negotiate a sole source blanket purchase agreement with Freefly Systems Inc. for unmanned aircraft systems and related equipment. This notice, posted on January 7, 2026, indicates the agency's intention to procure Freefly Alta X and Astro Max UAS models, along with associated payloads, batteries, chargers, ground control stations, and accessories for DOI operations. The procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside. The selected aircraft systems meet or exceed Office of Aviation standards and comply with Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements regarding unmanned aircraft manufacturing.

The objective of this procurement is to establish a blanket purchase agreement for unmanned aircraft systems and accessories that support DOI operational needs, with particular emphasis on platforms capable of carrying multiple payloads including the IGNIS 2 system. Although this is a sole source notice, interested firms that believe they can meet the stated requirements may submit information about their products and services to the Contracting Officer, Stephanie Boles, by the January 22, 2026 deadline. Responses will be evaluated at the government's discretion; however, the government reserves the right to proceed with sole source negotiation with Freefly Systems Inc. regardless of responses received. Only firms in the aircraft manufacturing sector (NAICS 336411) or unmanned aircraft category (PSC 1550) should consider responding to this opportunity. No solicitation documents are currently available, and telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
