About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure a turbine frame assembly (FRAME, TURBINE, AIRCR) designed to support the rear of F110 aircraft engines. This is a firm fixed-price contract opportunity posted on April 20, 2026, with a pre-solicitation notice due date of May 5, 2026. The solicitation will formally issue on May 6, 2026, with proposals due by June 5, 2026 under RFP #SPRTA1-26-R-0210. Critical safety item criteria apply to this procurement, and the component must meet specific dimensional and material specifications (steel construction, 10 inches long by 30 inches wide by 30 inches high, weighing 60 pounds). An ombudsman has been appointed to address contractor concerns during the proposal development phase, and all submissions must be made electronically, in writing, or by fax directly from requestors.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is unrestricted to all qualified sources. General Electric Company is the identified qualified source and has been the exclusive awardee on the three previous contracts for this item (most recently in September 2017). The contract requires delivery of a minimum of 27 units and a maximum of 159 units, with the primary requirement being 106 units delivered on or before August 1, 2027 to destination SW3211. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the historical pattern of General Electric as the sole contractor and the critical safety item classification indicate this is a specialized procurement requiring demonstrated manufacturing capability and compliance with stringent aerospace quality standards.
