About this opportunity

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking to procure foreign language interpretation services, primarily in Spanish but also other languages, to support its disaster response and recovery operations in Texas. The scope of services includes providing onsite interpreters for various government functions such as home inspections, meetings, briefings, town halls, and emergency communications. The services are intended to ensure effective communication and engagement with diverse communities. The solicitation is an open competition with a 100% small business set-aside. Proposals are due by July 30, 2024, and the government intends to award a labor hour purchase order to the responsible offeror(s) whose quote represents the best value.

The contract opportunity is for a base period of 90 days with one 90-day option period. FEMA requires a minimum number of Spanish interpreters to be available daily across multiple counties affected by Disaster Declarations 4781 and 4798. Pricing will be on a labor hour basis, with reimbursement for other direct costs such as travel. There is no incumbent for this new requirement, and the total small business size standard is $22.5 million.
