The General Services Administration (GSA) has published a Special Notice announcing a training session on the Forecast of Contracting Opportunities Tool. This online training event is hosted by GSA's Office of Small Business Utilization (OSDBU) and is designed to help contractors discover and navigate planned federal procurement opportunities. The session is scheduled for Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time and will be led by Kemba Gilmore, a Small Business Specialist in the National Capital Region. Registration is required to participate, and attendees will receive a confirmation email with meeting details upon signup. This initiative reflects GSA's commitment to promoting small business access to federal contracting opportunities.

The training session aims to educate contractors on how to effectively utilize the Forecast of Contracting Opportunities Tool, which is mandated under the Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988 and provides information on anticipated contract opportunities across multiple federal agencies. Participants will learn about the tool's features, including how to use filters and keywords to streamline searches and identify relevant opportunities. The learning objectives focus on understanding opportunity information and leveraging it strategically to navigate the federal marketplace. There are no set-aside requirements or specific eligibility restrictions mentioned, indicating the training is open to all interested contractors seeking to expand their understanding of federal procurement planning. Contractors can register through GSA's OSDBU Events page or access additional resources through GSA's Small Business Resources page.
