About this opportunity
NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Philadelphia is seeking to procure two gearbox accessory D units through a sole source procurement with Triumph Gear Systems. The contract involves repairing specific military equipment with NSN 2840-011520853 and part number 42312-26, where Triumph is recognized as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The government intends to negotiate exclusively with this single source under authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as Triumph is the only known source with the necessary technical capabilities and data rights. Interested organizations may submit capability statements or proposals by email to Elise.Anzini@navy.mil within 45 days of the April 9, 2025 posting. Electronic solicitation procedures will be used, with the request for proposal to be posted on NECO, and no telephone requests or hard copy documents will be accepted.
The procurement is not a small business set-aside and is classified under NAICS code 336412 for Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing. While the government expects to award the contract solely to Triumph Gear Systems, other firms can submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) if they believe they can meet the requirements. The anticipated award date is August 2025, and the procurement will utilize FAR Part 13 procedures, specifically declining to use FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition. The contract involves procuring two specific gearbox units, with no drawings or additional data available beyond what the OEM possesses. The total contract value and specific budget range were not explicitly detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, but the focused nature of the procurement suggests a specialized, technical military equipment repair contract.
