About this opportunity
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) is seeking information on modernized Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems through a Request for Information (RFI). The agency aims to identify advanced defense technology capable of protecting against air, tactical ballistic missile, and unmanned aerial vehicle threats while enhancing situational awareness and operational force protection. Specifically, the desired system must support a comprehensive range of sensors, weapons, and Command, Control, Communications, Compute, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I) infrastructure. The system should enable battle management, defensive counter-air operations, active and passive air defense, cyber defense, and logistics capabilities. Potential vendors must demonstrate the ability to develop a scalable solution that allows for modular growth across C5I, sensor, and weapons technologies. The RFI was posted on December 17, 2024, with responses due by January 31, 2025, providing interested contractors approximately six weeks to prepare their submissions.
This pre-solicitation notice does not currently indicate a specific set-aside designation, suggesting the opportunity is open to a broad range of contractors. No incumbent contractors or specific award values were mentioned in the notice. The system requirements suggest a complex, high-value procurement with significant technological specifications that will likely require advanced engineering and defense technology capabilities. While precise quantities are not specified, the RFI implies a potential long-term, multi-phase modernization effort for the Air Force's defensive systems infrastructure. The scalability requirement indicates the potential for subsequent contract modifications or follow-on procurements as technology and defense needs evolve, making this an attractive opportunity for advanced defense technology providers with sophisticated C5I and integrated defense system capabilities.
Notice text
This is a Request for Information (RFI), as defined in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e). The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), PEO Electronic Systems Directorate, International C2 & Sensors Division (AFLCMC/HBN) is seeking information on modernized Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems capable of enhancing defense against air and tactical ballistic missile (TBM) threats and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) while improving situational awareness, airspace management, operational force protection, and the defense of high-value assets. The desired system should support a range of defined sensors, weapons, and Command, Control, Communications, Compute, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I) infrastructure. This system shall further support battle management, defensive counter-air operations, active and passive air defense, cyber defense, and logistics. The system must be scalable to allow for modular growth in all areas of C5I as well as sensor and weapons evolution.
