The scope of work for this solicitation will include removal and replacement of an intake structure on the Big Sioux river which is required to update the gating system on the structure and to increase the level of confidence in the 100 yr flood protection from this structure. The work will include removal of a gated concrete intake structure and ~170 ft of associated corrugated metal piping. The replacement structure will comprise a gated concrete intake structure, a concrete gatewell structure to be constructed in the river face of the levee, and a concrete outlet structure with a slide gate. The concrete structures will be joined using 36 in diameter Reinforced Concrete Pipe. All disturbed levee surfaces will be rebuilt to original lines, grades and standards of compaction. Site restoration will include seeding, placement of protective riprap and replacement of impacted sections of the levee top recreation trail. If construction is performed during the spring when there is a higher flood risk the contractor will need to provide means to provide flood protection equivalent to that provided by the current levee system during the time the levee is breached.

The estimated construction cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000.
