Specifications for Welding Cable or Diesel Locomotive Cable (DLO)

Background:
Charlie Company 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power) deploys worldwide to provide prime power and electrical systems expertise in support of the war fighter and the National Response Framework. This unit requires the following cable in order to execute its mission.

Scope:
Prime Power conducts missions to provide utility grade power to numerous customers throughout the eastern region of the USA. Currently, the 249th Engineer Battalion lacks the ability to connect our MTOE Ruggedized Army Transformers (RAT) to the customers' switchgears. This scope details the procurement of a cable to complete quick disconnect systems to connect the RATs to various loads up at a distance of 120 feet at full rated load. Welding Cable or Diesel Locomotive Cable (DLO) is required due to the abrasion and oil resistance and high load (amp) requirements. This type of insulation is mandatory and cannot be substituted.
