About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking replacement parts classified as flap, wing landing, and other related components under NAICS 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing). This procurement requires engineering source approval from the design control activity, as the part is flight critical and possesses unique design capabilities that are essential to maintaining quality standards. Only previously Government-approved sources have been solicited for this opportunity, though non-approved sources may submit proposals accompanied by detailed source approval information as outlined in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support documentation. The evaluation will focus on the supplier's ability to meet stringent engineering and quality requirements, with approval from the cognizant Government engineering activity required prior to contract award. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on April 22, 2026, with a response deadline of May 7, 2026.
This procurement carries no set-aside designations and involves the acquisition of 12 units with delivery FOB Origin. The notice does not identify specific incumbent contractors or current suppliers, though it emphasizes that approved sources retain critical data rights, manufacturing knowledge, and technical data that are not readily available to the Government. No explicit award value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation announcement. The Government has determined that the technical data currently available is insufficient to support full and open competition, necessitating restriction to previously qualified sources due to the extended timeline typically required for new source approval. Prospective bidders who are not currently approved sources should initiate the qualification process immediately given the compressed timeline before the May 7, 2026 deadline.
