About this opportunity

The Naval Supply Systems Command is preparing to procure replacement flap and wing landing parts (NSN 7R-1560-016659592-QE, quantity 62 each) with a pre-solicitation response deadline of August 27, 2026. This procurement is restricted to Government-approved sources only; the item is flight-critical and requires engineering source approval by the design control activity prior to contract award.

The part demands unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge retained exclusively by qualified sources. Approved sources hold data rights, manufacturing/repair knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government and are essential to maintaining part quality. Alternate sources must qualify in accordance with design control activity procedures and obtain approval from the cognizant Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the intended application. The time required for new-source approval typically precludes award delay pending such approval.

Unapproved sources may submit source-approval information with their proposals, including technical data documenting production experience with the same or similar items, drawing on NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures for either spares or repair applications. Delivery terms are FOB origin. The procurement carries no set-aside.
