About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to procure fixture assemblies, with the primary objectives of identifying alternative sources, determining commercial item availability, and enhancing competition through increased transparency. This combined Request for Information and Synopsis is not a binding commitment to contract, but rather an invitation for interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities and interest in this procurement opportunity. The Government is seeking information on whether commercial items or non-developmental items exist that can satisfy the agency's requirements, with particular emphasis on improving small business access to acquisition information. Interested parties should contact Scottina Malia at 385-591-8407 or scottina.malia@us.af.mil with their submissions. The deadline for responses is March 28, 2026, and all responsible sources are encouraged to submit capability statements or proposals demonstrating their ability to fulfill the Government's needs.
This procurement is not designated as a small business set-aside; however, BAE Systems (CAGE 12436) has been identified as a potential incumbent or reference contractor for subcontracting opportunities. The Government is requiring eight units of fixture assemblies identified by NSN 4920-01-537-5649 and Part Number 2215200-101, with delivery required on or before September 19, 2027. The procurement is being conducted under a non-competitive justification authority citing limited responsible sources, though interested parties have 15 days from the notice posting date to demonstrate capability with commercial items. The relevant industrial classification indicates this falls within precision turned product manufacturing (NAICS 332721) and aircraft maintenance and repair shop specialized equipment (PSC 4920), suggesting specialized manufacturing expertise will be required to meet the agency's technical requirements.
