About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, Georgia is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive fitness equipment maintenance and repair services through this Request for Information. The contractor must supply all labor, materials, and supplies necessary to perform factory-recommended maintenance on commercial-grade fitness equipment, including routine lubrication, cleaning, technical inspections per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, component repairs, and replacement of defective or worn parts. Key qualifications require service technicians to possess at least two years of full-time experience servicing commercial-grade fitness equipment at large facilities and maintain appropriate manufacturer certifications to ensure warranty compliance. The contractor must perform work Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time for a minimum of one day per week and submit detailed documentation including a Quality Control Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, and employee roster within specified timeframes following award. The RFI was posted on March 4, 2026, with responses due by March 13, 2026, providing a nine-day window for interested small businesses to express their capability and interest in this opportunity.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside with emphasis on Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs), HUBZone-certified firms, and 8(a) certified businesses. The fitness equipment services will support approximately 91 participating federal agencies and more than 300 daily facility users, covering strength training equipment (barbells, dumbbells, cable stations, Smith machines), aerobic training equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, rowers, cycles), and ancillary equipment (racks, benches, cables, and attachments). No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the RFI, though the scope suggests a substantial ongoing maintenance contract. The contractor will be responsible for liability concerning employee injuries and damage to its own equipment, while the government retains responsibility for any damage to government property unless caused by government personnel or other vendors. Parts purchased for direct reimbursement must be pre-approved through the Contracting Officer's Representative with submission of three cost estimates for each request.
