About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Miami Area is seeking information regarding indoor or outdoor firing range services through a Request for Information (RFI) issued on January 26, 2026. The RFI is for planning and information purposes only and does not constitute a binding solicitation or commitment to contract. CBP requires a firing range facility located within 20 miles of 6601 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL 33122, operational Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET, capable of accommodating the agency's weapons training and qualification initiatives. The range must include a minimum of 25 yards in length with at least 24 individual firing positions and an auxiliary range for advanced tactics accommodating 10 shooters, with the facility able to accommodate both standard FMJ and jacketed ammunition. No formal evaluation criteria, deadline for questions, or proposal submission deadline has been specified in this RFI, as this is preliminary market research rather than an active procurement solicitation.

This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and identifies no current incumbent contractors or award value ranges. The RFI indicates that CBP must accommodate qualifications for approximately 1,700 CBP Officers on a quarterly basis, establishing significant volume requirements for the selected facility. Respondents should note that the U.S. Government will not reimburse any costs associated with responding to this RFI, all submissions become property of the Federal Government and will not be returned, and submission of a response does not guarantee participation in any future formal solicitation. The classified NAICS code 713990 (All Other Amusement and Recreation Industries) and PSC code W069 (Lease or Rental of Equipment—Training Aids and Devices) indicate the procurement will likely be classified as an equipment rental or facility lease arrangement rather than a service contract.
