About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking information regarding firing range services to support weapons training and qualification initiatives in the Miami area. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only and does not constitute a binding solicitation or commitment to contract; respondents should not anticipate feedback beyond acknowledgment of receipt. CBP requires a firing range facility located within Broward or Miami-Dade County that can accommodate up to 1,700 CBP officers on a quarterly basis for training and qualification purposes. The facility must include a 25-yard indoor or outdoor range with a minimum of 24 individual firing positions, an equipment cleaning area, classroom/conference seating for at least 24 students, a mat room, and restrooms, with firing positions restricted from public view. The preferred operational hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The response deadline for this RFI is October 24, 2025, and all submission costs will be the sole responsibility of respondents, as the U.S. Government will not reimburse any expenses incurred in preparing responses.
No set-aside designations have been applied to this procurement opportunity. The RFI does not specify an award value, budget range, or identify any current contractors or incumbents. The facility must accommodate both standard full metal jacket and jacketed ammunition, with specific caliber requirements noted as including 9mm and other ammunition types detailed in the full solicitation document. This pre-solicitation notice serves as a market research and planning tool for CBP to gather vendor information before any formal solicitation is issued; responding to this RFI does not preclude vendors from participating in future solicitations, nor does declining to respond prevent future participation. All submissions received become the property of the Federal Government and will not be returned to respondents.
