About this opportunity

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a civilian agency under the Department of Homeland Security, issued a Special Notice on April 13, 2026, regarding firing range services in the Miami area. The notice announces CBP's intent to award a sole-source contract to Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation for quarterly firing range services. The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 713990 (All Other Amusement and Recreation Industries) and PSC code W069 (Lease or Rental of Equipment—Training Aids and Devices). This is not a request for quotations, and no formal solicitation will be released. The sole-source justification is based on the determination that only one source is reasonably available to meet the agency's requirements.

The objective of this procurement is to provide firing range services to support approximately 1,700 CBP officers during the fiscal year from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027. The facility must be an outdoor firing range with a minimum of 48 lanes, capable of accommodating pistol, shotgun, and rifle ammunition at distances up to 25 yards, and must be located within 20 miles of CBP's Miami headquarters at 6601 NW 25th Street. The range must operate Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interested parties who believe they can fulfill these requirements have until February 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET to submit information demonstrating their capabilities via email to robert.j.kay@cbp.dhs.gov. While the small business size standard for this NAICS code is $8 million, this notice does not indicate any specific eligibility restrictions for interested contractors.
