About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking a contractor to rebuild four custom fiber optic cables for the 580th Software Engineering Squadron's communication processor test bench at Robins Air Force Base. The solicitation (FA857925Q0011) requires manufacturing four specific cable assemblies using precise government-issued technical drawings (U108223-10, U108223-30, U108223-50, and U108223-70), following a strict "build-to-print" methodology. Quotations are due by 12:00 PM EST on May 2, 2025, and must be submitted via email to Adam Hudson, with vendors required to include their CAGE CODE. The procurement will utilize a firm fixed-price contract structure, with potential bidders expected to adhere to detailed technical specifications outlined in the accompanying government files. Evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, but vendors will likely be assessed on their ability to meet precise engineering requirements and delivery timelines.

The solicitation does not have a standard set-aside designation, though the accompanying solicitation document indicates potential preference for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) concerns. The contract is classified under NAICS category 334515 for Instrument Manufacturing and PSC category 6015 for Fiber Optic Cables. Delivery requirements mandate completion within 60 calendar days of order receipt, with cables to be shipped FOB Destination to the 581 SWES MXDPBC at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia 31098. The cables will become U.S. Government property upon contract completion, with specific delivery to Peter Gilban at 580 SWES/MXDPCA. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement involves four individual cable units, each with a unique manufacturer part number corresponding to its specific configuration, suggesting a potentially specialized and precise manufacturing requirement.
