About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center has issued a Special Notice for the procurement of four specialized Fiber Optic Cables for the 580th Software Engineering Squadron (SWES) at Robins Air Force Base. The notice seeks a contractor to rebuild interconnecting cable sets within a fiber channel connected communication processor test bench. The requirement involves manufacturing and delivering custom fiber optic cable assemblies with specific technical specifications outlined in a detailed data package. The cables are critical for maintaining the test bench's operational capabilities and will require precise manufacturing according to provided technical drawings. The opportunity is not set aside for any specific type of contractor and is open to qualified vendors who can meet the technical requirements.

The primary objective of this contract is to award a single contract for the production of four distinct fiber optic cable assemblies with unique specifications (-10, -30, -50, and -70 variants). Contractors must adhere to strict technical requirements, including using specific connector types, fiber specifications, and precise routing configurations. The delivery timeline is 60 days after receipt of order, with the cables to be shipped FOB Destination to Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. Potential contractors will need access to a restricted technical drawing (Drawing #U108223) that requires DoD contractor certification. Each cable assembly must be carefully assembled, with dust-capped fiber ends and separate packaging to prevent damage during shipping. The contracting officer maintains final approval authority for any modifications affecting the contract's scope, schedule, or pricing. Interested contractors must demonstrate the capability to precisely manufacture these specialized fiber optic cables according to the highly detailed technical specifications provided in the data package.
